01 — Selected work

Platforms designed to be used — and grown.

CO2 AI product design

2025 · UX/UI · Product Design · AI

CO2 AI

Designing with AI for sustainable decision-making.

See the work

Client. An enterprise sustainability platform, born at BCG, now a startup driving large-scale decarbonization.

Approach. Companies struggle with Scope 3 emissions — often the majority of their carbon footprint. Existing tools are complex and data-heavy, making it hard for teams to understand, simulate, and act in real time.

Delivery. Rethought the experience so sustainability data feels intuitive, actionable, and strategic: a new AI layer to model Scope 3 data, simulations across supply chains, and a clearer navigation and packaging model across CCF Measure, PCF Measure, Reduce, and Product Ecosystem.

  • AI that interprets Scope 3

An AI-driven experience that reduces complexity and highlights actionable insights — live, contextual interpretation instead of data overload.

  • Simulation for R&D, procurement, and sustainability

Flows that let teams model material and supplier scenarios, compare trade-offs, and move forward without leaving the platform.

  • Navigation and product packaging

A cohesive suite so enterprises find the right module at the right time, instead of a fragmented set of tools.

Due to confidentiality, visuals use adapted marketing assets rather than final product designs.

Skylark product design

2016–22 · Product Design · Research · Strategy

Skylark

A SaaS platform to launch and grow streaming services.

See the work

Client. Skylark is an API and CMS for video products — handling the complexity so content owners can build world-class streaming platforms.

Approach. As Lead Product Designer for over five years, Sonjal was part of spinning Skylark out of Ostmodern into a funded product (£2M). The work ran from research through design and build to launch and evolution.

Delivery. Design requirements from internal teams and user research, a live customer-profile model, a new editorial ecosystem, and data-driven automation that reduced effort for curators while increasing engagement.

  • A live customer profile

A living diagram of each client's editorial needs — capturing nuance so the team could enhance engagement with precision.

  • A fresh ecosystem

Navigation and data-model structure aligned to global standards. Quiet innovation: small shifts that make a large difference in daily CMS work.

  • Editorial experience & automation

Skylark v2 gave curators a robust arena to create pages and components independently, plus filtering, automated lists, and analytics that recommend the next action.

OHO.live product design

2024 · UX/UI · Product Design · Mobile

OHO.live

Enhancing interactive live streaming for reality TV.

See the work

Client. An interactive streaming platform for live reality TV — viewers engaging with real-time content on iOS and Android.

Approach. User-centered design with iterative testing: research showed the audience stretched to 35–40, not only 18–25. The work focused on context, timeline, guest discovery, and a hub for related shows.

Delivery. A homepage structured for catch-up and discovery, narrative timeline and recaps, moderated live chat, interactive polls that shaped the show, and dedicated pages for guests, categories, and presenters.

  • 450k downloads · 2M hours streamed

During a two-month live program the app attracted over 450,000 downloads and more than two million hours of content — design as a growth lever, not decoration.

  • Real-time participation

Live chat and short- and long-form polls gave fans a voice in daily challenges and eliminations, while revealing which guests had the most dedicated followers.

  • Catch-up without losing the plot

Timeline, highlight reels, and structured VOD so users joining mid-live could follow the storyline and find guest information instantly.

04 — Partners

What partners say.

“Very impressed by his design process”

We partnered with Sonjal for a UI and UX design project involving long form web content. Overall, we were very happy with Sonjal's work and impressed by his design process. Sonjal took time to explain his decisions and recommendations at each stage, starting from basic wireframes to explore the UI, up to final design decisions around colors and fonts. Our feedback was asked for and incorporated at all stages.

“A trusty Design Leader”

Sonjal and I were an inseparable team at Skylark, and as the Product leader, he became my trusty Design leader copilot right through some of the most dramatic changes in customer experience we made. His ability to perform deep qualitative research in the morning with multi-stakeholder customers, yet be designing new solutions ready to go live in the afternoon, was brilliant. Amongst all this, he would have compelling thoughts around strategy any time you asked.
